Xerox 4265 Driver Installation/Printing Instructions for Mac
Each DKICP student is allotted 1000 prints and 100 copies per machine, per semester. You must provide your own paper.
- Go to the Xerox website for WorkCentre 4265
- Ensure that the “Operating System” in the drop down menu corresponds to your laptop’s operating system. If you are not sure which version OS you are using, Click the “Apple” icon in the top left corner, and select “About this Mac”. There it will say version “10.x”. Select the macOS Common Print Driver Installer then click “accept” to download.
- Locate the file “XeroxPrintDriver” in the Downloads folder and double click to open the file. In the Xerox Print Driver window, double click on the “Xerox Print Driver” file. Click “Continue” on the next 3 windows then click “Agree” to the terms of the software license agreement. Click on Install to begin the installation. When prompted, enter your password to authorize the installation. Exit out of the installation window at the “Install Xerox Printer” window.
- Open “System Preferences”. Then “Printers & Scanners”. Click the “+” on the left to add a printer. Choose “IP” and enter one of the IP addresses listed below. Ensure that “Protocol” is set to IPP (Internet Printing Protocol). Name the printer Xerox 17 or Xerox 18 and enter “student lounge” in Location. The Use field should say “Xerox WorkCentre 4265”. Click add. Repeat step 3 to add the remaining printer.

Xerox account Configuration
- Open up a Word document to set up the Accounting feature on the remaining printer. Click on “File”, then “Print”.
- In the “Print” window select a Xerox printer. Under the “Presets” field, click on Copies & Pages and select “Xerox Features”. Change the Paper/Output field to Advanced.
- Click on [Accounting…] at the bottom and change the Accounting System to “Xerox Standard Accounting”
- Under “Accounting Prompt”, ensure that “Always Prompt” is selected then Click ok.
- In the “Print” window, go to the “Presets” field and change the setting from (“Default Settings”) to “Save Current Settings as Preset”. Type in “Xerox” for the Preset Name then click ok.
- Repeat steps 2 through 5 to add the remaining printer.
Printing a PDF
- Navigate to File -> Print
- Click on Printer on the bottom left
- Select the printer you would like to print from
- Change the preset to Xerox
- Select the pages you would like to print and page layout settings
- Click on Print and enter your UH ID in the Accounting window then click ok
- Click on Print
Printing a Word Document
- Navigate to File -> Print
- Select the printer you would like to print from
- Change the preset to Xerox
- Select the pages you would like to print
- Click on Print and enter your UH ID in the Accounting window the click ok
