Welcome to the Class of 2026
September 26, 2022
The week of August 15th was a busy one for members of the DKICP Class of 2026, as they experienced a full orientation schedule. Along with College and campus tours, students got to hear from faculty and upper-class members about what to expect in the year ahead, strategies for effective studying and the many resources available to them.
They heard about student mentorship programs and the variety of co-curricular activities and student organizations they can join, and also had the chance to meet with faculty advisors.
Interim Dean Miriam Mobley Smith welcomed students into the DKICP “pharmily”, and told them they were embarking on a journey of discovery, learning, exploration, personal growth and professional service…unlike anything they’ve experienced before. “The next four years of your life will be spent with fellow students who will be your lifelong “ʻohana” of colleagues and friends.”
She also encouraged the new student pharmacists to embrace every opportunity, challenge themselves in acquiring new knowledge, seek mentors, network with fellow students and colleagues, provide the highest quality care for their patients, and above all, set high goals and work to achieve them.
